Memory Cleanup Apps drain users’ personal data

Apps for clearing memory on smartphones that promise to free up space on devices may conceal serious threats to user privacy. According to an analysis of 10 popular cleaning apps, they all share personal data with third parties, including geolocation, purchase history, and product interactions. Despite the fact that such applications are often positioned as tools for optimizing device performance, they actively collect and transmit user data. BP Mobile’s Cleaner Kit application stands out in particular, which transmits up to 9 categories of information, including the exact location and user IDs. To minimize the risk of data leakage, users are advised to check the privacy policy of applications and manually clean their devices.
